Templates create structure, not quality
A good template reduces omission risk and makes decisions visible. It should not become a document-completion exercise.
Recommended AskAQA template set
| Template | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Test Strategy | Quality approach, risk, coverage, environments, automation, exit criteria |
| Test Plan | Execution scope, schedule, resources, data, suites |
| QA Sign-Off | Results, open defects, limitations, residual risk, recommendation |
| Risk Assessment | Impact, likelihood, controls, owner |
| Traceability Matrix | Requirements → tests → evidence |
| Automation Strategy | Layers, framework, CI, maintenance, metrics |
Keep templates modular
Large projects may need full sections. Small changes may use a one-page version. Design templates so teams can scale detail up or down.
